Special Farm and Artisan Tour
Get off the beaten track and enjoy the seasons in the mountains touring one of the most beautiful valleys in Western North Carolina. A Bed of Roses, along with the Inns of the Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association, is offering our guests a rare opportunity to explore the hidden treasures of Big Sandy Mush where families have farmed among the rolling hills for generations. On the first Saturday of each month, from May 6th to October 28th the artists and farmers will open their doors to our guests. The Sandy Mush Artisan Trail will lead you along country roads from the studios of local artisans to farms and vineyards where you will enjoy tastings and shopping and get to meet the people who make this charming community in the mountains special and unique.
Stay at A Bed of Roses for the first weekend of the month from May to October and when you add the Fall Farms Package to your stay we will provide you with a touring map/guide for your independent driving tour as well as a picnic lunch to enjoy at Addison Farms Vineyard
- At Addison Farms Vineyard you will enjoy a free wine tasting and receive an attractive complementary wine glass to take home.
- One of the farms on the tour will be Sandy Hollar Farms where you can pick-your-own blackberries or shop for honey and beeswax candles.

- The Sandy Mush Herb Nursery will offer tips on culinary and medicinal uses for their herbs. They also offer wildflowers, bonsai plants, a selection of books and seeds for sale.
When you buy from the participating farms 10% of your purchase price will be donated to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, which helps to preserve and protect the Sandy Mush Valley.
And be sure to visit and shop at the local artisans’ studios and workshops along the way! Sandy Mush’s remote beauty has attracted many artists to the area.
